The Supermotoland SpiceSolutions.pl race team raced at the fantastic Mora d’ebre circuit in Catalunya over the weekend, at the 5th round of the Catalan Supermoto championship.
Loris Ford-Dunn raced in the SM senior class and quickly secured pole position with a lap time of 52.9 seconds, just 0.2 seconds off his own lap record for the circuit set in 2020 at the Spanish supermoto championships. He then won the sprint race that was shortened due to a red flag, and turned that into two wins for the day, by winning the main event later in the day. It was nice for him to be on the top step of the podium as it seemed like a long time since he last stood there.
Ryan Blackburn had his best ever race weekend. A relative newcomer to supermoto racing, Ryan had an outstanding weekend in the SM masters class (for racers over 40 years old). Ryan was 3rd in the sprint race and then managed an amazing 2nd position in the main event to give him his first ever podium finishes in a Supermoto race. To come away with two trophies was an amazing experience for him.
Both racers agreed that the Catalan championship is an ideal championship to bring people that are new to supermoto racing into the team to race with us. The tracks are fantastic and the racing was great in all classes and at all levels of ability. So the Supermotoland Spicesolutions.pl race team will be adding the Catalan championship to its 2025 race schedule to help bring new riders into the sport of supermoto. Keep in touch if you want to ride with us………………
