First Malaysian racer in World Supermoto championships
Malaysian supermoto racer Muhamed Habibullah, who is known as Gabit to his friends and race fans, will be the first Malaysian racer to fly to Europe and take part in the S1GP world supermoto championship.
Gabit will be racing in the final Grand Prix of the year at the GP of Lombardia, Italy. The ‘wild card’ ride is a chance for him to get used to racing in Europe and prepare himself for a potential full season of Grand Prix’s in 2022.
The Lombardia Grand Prix will be at the impressive Castelletto Di Branduzzo circuit with its spectacular asphalt jump section and sky zone. The racing will be tough as Gabit tries to match the pace of the super fast Italian and world championship racers on their home soil. But the Multiple motocross and Supermoto, Malaysian champion is looking forward to the challenge and will be doing all he can to get up to speed as quickly as possible.
Gabit will be racing with the Supermotoland Husqvarna race team, who specialise in helping International racers come to Europe, to train and race at a world class level in both the Spanish, European and World Supermoto championships.
Gabit will have a new team and a new bike to get used to, before learning one of the toughest GP tracks on the calendar. But the winner of the FIM Asia open International and Asian supermoto championship in 2016 is keen to see what he can do in S1GP.
