The SpiceSolutions Supermotoland race team were in action over the weekend at the SĹ‚omczyn track in Poland for round 2 of the Polish supermoto championship. With changeable weather conditions making for a slippery track, the team had a mixed weekend.
Arek Szwak had a fantastic couple of races to end up with his first ever supermoto podium in the SM Amateur class. Having to adjust his riding as the rain fell with slick tyres fitted, he managed to secure P3 overall and propel himself to second position in the championship standings. Arek was the first to say how his training at the supermotoland race school and the work done on his bike by the SpiceSolutions Supermotoland team had made a world of difference to his riding and he was thrilled with his first ever podium.
Loris Ford-Dunn was at the other end of the happiness scale. After a promising start to the weekend that saw him topping the early practice sessions in the S1 class. Disaster struck when his bike developed a gearbox fault through the qualifying session. He still managed to nurse the bike around the track for a P3 qualifying slot. But upon examination of the gearbox in the paddock the bike had to be retired for the remainder of the race meeting due to a broken gear.
The team now prepare for the S4 European supermoto championships in Busca Italy on the 29th and 30th June.
