Solid start for Loris Ford-Dunn in S4 European Supermoto championships
The Supermotoland Husqvarna junior talent team were in Ortona, Italy at the weekend for the first round of the S4 (road only) European supermoto championships.
The team had planned to field two riders in the class but injury has side lined Malaysian racer Khairularin Yahaya, so it was British Racer Loris Ford-Dun that lined up on the grid for the team.
Beating the super fast Italian riders on their home soil was always going to be a challenge and the track proved to be very challenging and slippery under the hot conditions. Loris was soon on the pace however, but then started to struggle to find a suspension setting to give him that little bit extra that he needed for a podium finish.
Loris was P7 in qualifying and then finished P5 and P6 after a crash, in his two races. His pace was just a few tenths of a second off the race winners and he knows that he has the speed to win at the next round in Spain on the 22nd August.
Loris will be training hard in July and August at the Supermotoland training track in Murcia, Spain with the other team members of the Junior talent team, to find some better settings for hot conditions and to give him a shot at the top step of the podium at the next GP in Spain.
The supermotoland Husqvarna junior talent team would like to thank its young racers for all the hard work and relentless training that these young racers put in to try and better themselves and we would like to thank the sponsors listed below that make the teams activities possible.
