The Supermotoland Husqvarna race team will be taking two of its youngest racers to the Spanish Supermoto Grand Prix at the Alcarras circuit near Lleida, Catalunya. The aim is to give the two racers a wild card ride at world championship level with a great team and equipment backing them up.
Both riders will be on the Supermotoland developed, A kit Husqvarna FS450 race bikes, and hopes are high for some impressive results.
Australian racer Harley Thomas will be racing in the S1GP class, up against the worlds best supermoto racers. The Alcarras circuit has one of the most impressive offroad sections on the race calendar and Harley will be doing all he can to learn from the best and improve his speed over the race weekend. The 18 year old is only in his second year of supermoto racing and is showing some impressive form lately as he continues to train hard to achieve his goals.
Harley will score points in the S1GP rookie category as well as the main GP event.
British racer Loris Ford-Dunn will compete in the S4 category, for road only supermoto (without an offroad section). He is hoping for a rostrum position as he believes he has the speed to take a win if he can put it all together on the day. Its a tough job though, as he is up against the worlds best supermoto racers that are all aiming for that number one spot.
Racing kicks of this weekend at Alcarras on the 16th and 17th September. So if your in eastern Spain then why not turn up and enjoy the show.
