Two of supermotoland Husqvarna´s racers decided to try their hand at supermoto street racing in Spain. The event chosen was the prestigious and Historic Xativa street race in Valencia Provence, that is held in the town centre of Xativa on the 15th August Spanish holiday each year.
This year was the 70th running of the event and both Will Mcmahon and Ryan Blackburn were taking part in the race just to gain experience in the tricky art of supermoto street racing. This was their first ever experience of street racing.
Street racing in Spain involves racing on slippery town centre tracks with straw bales lining the streets and zebra crossings and manhole covers to negotiate.
They raced the event safely and with fun in mind and had a great time mixing with the thousands of fans that came to watch the race.
Will finished 13th and Ryan was 14th which was an impressive result for their first learning experience of street racing.
You can check out some videos that we made of the event on the supermotoland you tube channel.
They both agreed it was a fantastic experience and will be back for next years event.
Now the racers and the rest of the team prepare for their next Spanish championship race in September.
